Preference

So, today was pretty normal. Oliver still wouldn't latch on the left side and we breastfed a couple of times on the right. He mostly had bottle. Then today when I got home from grocery shopping with Evan, Josh said that Oliver wouldn't take the bottle but he was trying to root on Josh. So, we tried to breastfeed and Oliver latched onto both sides and had a real feeding! Needless to say I was ecstatic and SO proud! It basically made my day. When I pumped afterward I didn't even get an ounce which means he got almost all of it out! I think we are moving in the right direction and maybe it's silly, but I was flattered that he wanted to breastfeed rather than take another bottle. <3

  1. I'm so happy you had a great day! woohoo! I don't know if this makes you feel any better, but when Megan went in for her 2 week check-up, she was still an ounce shy of her birth weight. The pediatrician told me not to worry, but had me come back in a week later for another weight check, and she was fine. Megan just does NOT gain weight like her siblings (meaning she isn't a super chunky baby, lol.) But she has slowly, and steadily gained weight at HER rate, and has stayed on the same curve. That's all that really matters, ya know? Be more stubborn than Oliver. ;) You're doing great. You're going to make it! It gets easier. I promise!
